our front porch
by Kay
We spend a lot of time on our front porch. The porch swing offers a view of Franklin Park as well as the houses on Walnut. We live in an urban neighborhood. At least, it’s urban for a town in the midwest.
From our front porch, we see neighbors walking their dogs, a dad who jogs while pushing his stroller, and one thug who guns his motorcycle too fast. Mostly, though, we just swing, talk to each other, and enjoy a glass of wine and sometimes some supper.
What Matters
We are going to a part be of a glorious wedding of two people we love very much. Shoes, dresses, suits and ties are important. What really matters though is the opportunity to celebrate and witness the public declaration of love between two vibrant, smart young people. Once in a lifetime. Once in a family’s time. It leaves me almost breathless to think about being a part of such splendor.
You are the beautiful writer who should be attempting a blog, not me.
That’s a really nice looking porch.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. You are welcome to sit a spell on the porch, too!
I could lounge on that porch with a hot coffee very happily, methinks! Looks very pleasant :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. You are welcome to stay a while on our front porch, too. The coffee’s hot and the morning air is warm.
Your porch looks very inviting! I’d love to have one with a swing and be able to sit and watch the world go by ……
Thank you for reading my blog. Yes, the world does seem to go by our front porch.
I should know this porch! For many years I delivered mail to many of the homes left on Walnut. It is a lovely old neighborhood and I miss my tromps through it! I don’t miss the job though. Thanks for visiting my blog. Come try Cosmic Pizza when you’re in my ‘hood.
Oh my gosh! You are the owner of Cosmic Pizza? I believed I stumbled upon your blog randomly? What an amazingly small world. Tom and I love this old neighborhood and I’m pleased you stopped by, even virtually.
Oh no, I don’t own Cosmic Pizza, I merely live around the corner from Cosmic Pizza. I believe C.P. is owned by the people who owned Pair, downtown, and now own Locavore in Bown Crossing.
Your porch looks very familiar to me, but I think the one I’m thinking of is closer to Warm Springs than you are. In any case it looks like a lovely place to sit and have a cup and read the paper…or later sip a glass and read a book.
The wicker furniture and plants may be gone but they will not be forgotten!
