The first day of 2012 was cold but graced with perfect light. Here are the houses around Franklin Park, our neighborhood.
I love your neighborhood! What beautiful pictures! Each house has a unique personality!
Thank you. We like our neighborhood, too. We’ve only been in two of these houses. Ours, of course, and the yellow one (third row, second house). Yellow house was on a home tour that we went on a couple of years ago. It was surprising inside. The young man who owns the house is quite hip, so it was urban and sleek in there.
Oh my dear! You are living on my dream street! I don’t care about heat costs or the high ceilings. i want wood floors, big porches to sit on all day through whatever weather is upon us, beautiful structures, & old! Sigh…
I will be visiting this post often:) Happy New Year!
Our front porch is my favorite room of the house. Second is our bedroom closet. I should write a blog post about our closet sometime! Thank you for stopping by my blog and happy new year to you, too!
Love these homes. I could live in any one of them. Some of them look like there are historical signs in front, and a few look like fraternity or sorority houses. Part of a college?
The sorority is across the park from us and the girls walk through the park on their way to campus. Tom and I work at Illinois State University, but we live right next to Illinois Wesleyan, a small liberal arts college. It’s simply beautiful.
Wow ! What a neigbourhood to live in. :-)
See? You use that extra “u” in neighborhood and you sound so exotic! Thank you for stopping by my blog. Come to the neighborhood sometime, too!
Wow. What gorgeous homes. Very stately and ritzy looking but warm and inviting too. Is your home there too?
It is. We are in the last house on the last row. That photo makes our house look kind of ominous, though. I should take the photo in the morning sun and see if that makes a difference. Thank you for stopping by my blog!
What absolutely lovely houses! Our one in Edinburgh was built in Sandstone in 1840 or so. Just as well it’s stone, as we experienced 102 mph winds this morning. Lots of damage elsewhere in Scotland.
I’m impressed with your cyclling routine.
Hope 2012 is good for you.
What a lovely street!!!! I’m going to be spending the 2nd cup of coffee this morning beating back the green eyed monster. :)
Lovely houses. Your neighborhood definitely looks WAY better than mine!
Gorgeous houses. I used to live in Illinois, in Naperville. We loved it there.
What a fabulous town you live in! Wow!
I agree. Each house is so unique from the others. Thanks for sharing.
